This week (9th — 15th April) I am once again working with young string players aged 12 — 14 at the International Chamber Music Academy. It is such a magical place as the buildings are built into the Abbey ruins, which dates back to 1789. With the string orchestra I am conducting Mendelssohn’s String Symphony No. IX. To support their chamber orchestral skills, each student will have a turn at conducting the orchestra being coached by myself. This will allow the students to further understand the relationship between conductor and player and help the musicians play as one large communicative body. The concert is Sunday afternoon!
